CURRENT HOTTEST NEW KITCHEN AND BATH TRENDS
a steam bath
Consider 2023 the year to update your refrigerator, shower, or even your washer-dryer set-up if you've been putting it off. Consider the most recent releases from the annual Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which features a wide range of fresh and intriguing inventions (and countertops and backsplashes). We combed the Las Vegas conference center for the top materials and technological innovations that will soon be found in a bathtub, sink, or stovetop near you. Want to put pictures of your family on a refrigerator? For that, there is an app and a matching fridge. Do you desire a restroom that resembles an onsen in Japan? There is no need to worry because a few recently released tubs are delivering the zen. Here is a glimpse at some of the trends that were observed at this year's show, as well as some of our absolute favorite kitchen and bathroom standouts.
1 A kitchen with blue and green appliances
You might be surprised to learn that the next platform for artistic expression is on the sides of your refrigerator. These panels have changed from being stark white or stainless steel walls to vibrant, expressive statement pieces that enhance rather than detract from the design of your kitchen. MyBespoke, the newest bespoke refrigerator from Samsung, allows users to upload any image or piece of artwork straight to one or both panels. LG's interpretation places more emphasis on color theory. It is known as MoodUp and includes LED doors that can be changed to almost any color using the related ThinQ app. Users can adjust the ambiance using preset choices based on what they're cooking.
INDUCTION REINS SUPREME IN 2
Foodies initially may not have welcomed induction cooktops, but as talk of outright banning gas cooktops grows, it has since become the favored technology. Starting with Bertazzoni, which debuted a downdraft version of the cooktop that does away with the need for an overhead hood, brands are increasing their focus on induction while also introducing new innovation. Induction was also stressed by GE Appliances, which unveiled a slew of new products across its portfolio of brands that feature precise temperature control technology that enables users to sauté vegetables at the ideal temperature.
3 SUPER SOAK in a shower while in a sauna
Self-care is always a good notion; in fact, consumers are now trying to replicate a five-star spa experience at home. On that front, there are no worries because some of the largest brands in the market are reacting in kind with genuinely zen-worthy new soaking tubs. The Stillness Infinity Experience spa from Kohler was on display. It combines modern technology with an authentic onsen experience. Water overflows into the encircling hinoki wood, and there are colored lights all around for a chromotherapy effect. If you still need more relaxation, Duravit showcased its interpretation of the zen pool with Zencha, the brand's stylish partnership with Sebastian Herkner. Even a sink to coordinate is available in the collection for devotees.
4 HYPEBEAST LAUNDRY
The good news is that, beginning this summer, you might never have to do it again. Transferring shirts and sweaters from the washer to the dryer isn't exactly exciting. GE Profile is placing a lot of faith in its UltraFast Combo, an all-in-one appliance that can wash, dry, rinse, and cycle, in an effort to make laundry day even simpler. A focus is also placed on maintaining the appearance of apparel and accessories while they are being stored. LG's Styler Shoecase, for example, makes the ideal display for hypebeast sneakers. Even while the shoes are on show, the case will clean and steam them, keeping them from gathering dust in the back.
5 FRESHER, LONGER a food storage
Fruits and vegetables have all gone rotten before; the most recent advancements in refrigerator technology aim to solve that unpleasant problem. The HarvestFresh technology from Beko, which uses a three-color light system to mimic the sun's beams, was the company's main attraction. Produce that remains fresher for longer and retains more vitamins and minerals is the overall result of the launch in April (just in time for Earth Day). While Miele claims to keep vegetables vibrant with its PerfectFresh technology, which mists the crisper drawer with a fine mist every 90 minutes (or whenever you crack open the fridge).
6 WARM UP in a steam shower
It might be time to invest in a smart bathroom if you don't already have one. Brizo and Delta each introduced steam shower systems with high-tech features that let users customize their leisure experience from home, called Mystix and Showersense, respectively. Aromatherapy, chromotherapy, and audiotherapy are all combined in Brizo's offering, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options are also available in Delta's steamy experience. The only thing left to do is create the ideal soundtrack.
